BOAT TRIP
Rent a boat for the week and explore the lake Åsunden. There is an island close by with a great shallow beach perfect for swimming and much more. Or why not go fishing?
EXPLORE NATURE
There is plenty of nature to explore close to all three cabins. Take a relaxing hike in a nature reserve? Enjoy what nature have to offer and go berry hunting? For example there are alot of bramble/blackberries in the area.
SWIMMING
There are several beaches and swimming areas in the area. Our favorite spot is less than 10min away with car. In the nearby village Hycklinge there is public swimming spot with a small diving tower.
VÄSTERVIK
Västervik is a great town to visit during the summer. There is a varied selection of restaurants and shops (and great ice cream). There are several activities for the whole family and a nice marina to visit.
ASTRID LINDGRENS WORLD
Visit the magical world of Astrid Lindgren in Vimmerby, where Pippi Longstocking, Emil, Ronja and other beloved characters come to life. Astrid Lindgren’s World offers fun and adventure for the whole family – all inspired by Sweden’s most cherished author.
OLD TOWN LINKÖPING
Visit Old Linköping – a historic district with cobbled streets, wooden houses, museums, cafés, and shops. Stroll through living history and experience Swedish life as it once was, right in the heart of Linköping. For families, there's plenty to explore: meet farm animals at Valla Farm, play at the Lill-Valla playground, and enjoy interactive exhibits at Fenomenmagasinet. During summer, children can participate in theater performances, crafts, and even solve mysteries at LasseMaja’s Detective House.
VIRUM MOOSE PARK
Virum Älgpark, located just outside Vimmerby, offers an unforgettable wildlife experience for the whole family. Join a moose safari where you can get up close to these majestic animals—feed and even pet them from the comfort of covered wagons with open sides. The safari is suitable for all ages.
TROLLEGATER
Located near Rimforsa in southern Östergötland, Trollegater Nature Reserve is home to one of Sweden's largest bedrock cave systems. The main cave stretches over 100 meters, featuring narrow passages and spacious chambers that invite adventurous exploration. According to local legend, trolls once inhabited these mystical caves. There are well-marked trails, picnic areas, and a shelter equipped with a fireplace. Children will delight in the small activity course near the parking area, designed for balancing on logs and stones.
